Further to it based on the research paper, a resolution was obtained by HELP Foundation from Mayyanad Gramapanchayat Committee endorsing the remedial steps proposed and the go ahead to implement them.We have been carrying out mangrove affforestation activities together with the local community and school ecoclubs in Paravur Lake. More importantly we have been working with the Major Irrigation department towards restoring the estuary.[/pillar_card][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][pillar_card type=”vertical-link” image=”116″ title=”Ashtamudi Lake “]Ashtamudi Lake is one among the 115 wetlands notified by the GOI and its a Ramsar site as well. HELP Foundations has a comprehensive proposal for restoration of the wetlands around the Ashtamudi lake. This is a Community Participatory Wetlands Restoration Model built on Participatory Rural Appraisal Method. The proposal is based on its long years of experience with the Paravur Kayal and working with communities, and enabled for sustainability by the optimal use of state of the art technology.
